Pregnancy, birth and postpartum support, both in-person and virtual. Based in Coventry, West Midlands.
For families who are stepping in to full responsibility for their birth. Specialising in home births and freebirths.
If you've found me, it's likely that you're probably doing things a bit different to most other people you know...
You have a sneaky suspicion that pregnancy, birth and parenthood can look very different to how it's usually presented. You have a niggle that there just must be more to it. And you're curious to learn more.
I agree. There IS more to it, and these things can look VERY different to the normal stories we hear and are told.
My ethos is that birth is a natural bodily function, and it is a truly sacred time in a family’s life. It doesn't have to be the scary horror story that we've been told. It can be soft and sacred and raw and wild and sensual and hard and messy and beautiful, and all the things.
I support families who are making the decision to take full responsibility for their birth experiences, often choosing to walk away from mainstream care. My specialism is in freebirth and making decisions that go against the norm.
I co-host a podcast called 'Normal Boring Freebirth for Normal Boring People', which aims to dispel some of the myths around freebirth and the drama/stereotypes surrounding it.
Sometimes birth can be so very normal, and also, a little bit boring. Except also totally mindblowingly INCREDIBLE too!
- And it can be deeply, profoundly healing -
When we go through these huge life events with a team of people who believe in us, this can be lifechanging.
I have ultimate trust in you, your body and your baby (and God), and I know that you will be making the decisions that feel right for you along the way.
I’m a mother of 5 myself; my first three children were freeborn with just my husband present at home, and our twins were a total surprise, born by c-section in hospital. We home educate our kids, don't vaccinate etc. and so are used to going against the grain.
I am so looking forward to chatting with you more xx
The journey to parenthood is huge! We all need to hold hands with someone during these times, so often with those who have done it before. If you've found me here, it's probably because you're looking for that extra support. And I absolutely get that!
Each pregnancy, birth and parenting journey is as unique as the baby you are carrying! Even if we've had a baby before, things can feel really different, and it's so normal to want someone around that you can ask questions or seek recommendations from.
Increasingly, families would like support during their pregnancy and birth, but are finding that mainstream, routine care just doesn't give them what they need or want.
I am an independent birth worker, meaning I am not tied to any organisation. This also means that I'm not bound by protocols and procedures. I can't offer medical advice - and acting as a midwife is actually unlaw. My role as a Doula is to offer emotional, physical and spiritual support.
For some families, this is exactly the support they're looking for.
My support is available to all. My personal faith is Roman Catholic, but my connection is with all souls. I stand with marginalised communities, believe that Human Rights are for all (as if we actually need to state that!), and stand in support of those who are oppressed all around the world. Free Palestine.
